Before we diie,
let us listen again to the rain,
not as background noise,
but as an old friend
telling us something we forgot to hear.

Before we die,
let us forgive the small things,
the words we never spoke,
the visits we kept putting off,
the moments that quietly slipped away.

Let us walk barefoot in the yard…
feel the soil beneath our feet and remember how the earth always forgave us first.

Before we die,
let us love in simple ways,
a paper whisper sitting on the table
a cup of tea shared in silence,
a touch that asks for nothing.

And when the last light
rests upon our faces,
let us accept the time we have left,
Let us only say,
"thank you."

a masterful treatment of the theme Rowena. Especially liked "a paper whisper sitting on a table"....Had me sitting and reflecting on sooooo many moments...the final verse a simple "thank you"...

you have such a beautiful, poetic voice that brings light, hope, and gratitude to the page. I agree, "thank you."
