~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
flashed autumn’s trees, the limbs gray
leaves crunching quietly,
like a feeling
being crushed, crumpled
lost dreams
who compel me to see the grief
the nostalgia – graceful as a still light
falling, aching, engraving
hope into the heart, hesitating
so I know the music of a thought
who hears joy flowing on the echoes
grieving for the past, where love could last
but never, on the overcast skies
where mercy trembles and shudders
like the tingling, frost
in graceful mazes,
despair erasing the melancholic
where rivers stir the stones
break into the thoughts with roaring
waters in voices overturned
musical stories, poetry thundering
on the crisp, cool silence
reverberating in stanzas of light
softly playing on the Southern night
a star, a wind, a stillness
alive with the ache of autumn
stirring up the soundless
melodies of light
drifting in and out of the twilight
fireflies in colors of time,
flowing on the heavy mist
awakening a thought
dreaming like the moon who sees
beyond the darkness
beyond the seas
into the wisdom,
where my heart grieves
unseeing, only seeing
the soundless prayers
alive in the maze of a spirit
who knows He is near,
never far, like the stars
always alive and listening
so alive
where I can hear
in my heart
I know He lives
in the autumn
I can hear His will
on the dusk,
I can sense His still
where I believe
His love will fulfill –
I love God and believe
He is the answer to every doubt
He is the reason I’ll always see
the forest, despite the trees.
