Before I Met You

My life was going somewhere
Before I met you
When you came into my life i thought you my true love
My true everything
What made it alright to stomp on my heart like you did?
Was it the devil on the left?
Surely not God on the right
You made me feel like scum on a shoe
When all I really wanted was you
This is what I get for trusting
A heart bruised black and blue
Before I met you,
My life was on the fast-track
Now when i look back on my life with you
All I see dark skies and foggy waters
Entirely different than
Before I met you
