Before I Fall
Most mornings are mundane
a routine struggle to present
a pumped up state of affairs
to an already exasperated air
[but this time it's different]
soft breezes blow across my pillow
brushing smiles upon my skin
my eyes have been awakened
as comfort keeps crawling in
sun kisses dangle off my prism
and for once I can finally breathe
hopeful happens upon reason
drifting in every gaze you see
don't change past imperfections
splashed about your walls
life's too short for wasting
just catch me before I fall
