Before Apollo Rises

Glowing ember that finally goes to slumber,
leaving behind the last ray of promise—
to appear again.

Yet lingering love,
stillness in pale glow,
only to start twilight.

Howling winds question the night’s slow departure,
waiting patiently in slumber
for Apollo to appear.
