Before !
Before the world turned upside down
We wore pleasant smiles and fewer frowns
We spoke kind words and did good deeds
Helped each other and those in need
Before the world turned inside out
We accepted our troubles with fewer pouts
We solved our problems on our own
With nary a tear or a moan
Before the chaos had begun
We checked our anger and our tongue
We thought clearly, controlled our actions
Staying focused, ignoring distractions
Before the turmoil and daily upheaval
We embraced the good and scorned the evil
We tried our best for our children’s sakes
We were the village that it takes
Before the world fell apart
We were thoughtful people with caring hearts
We embraced our differences wishing others well
Before the world went to hell !
