Because I Live Mr
"The sun is alone too but still shines"
- Author Unknown
When you saw me, as a child, being so alone,
And exploring, zealously, the butterfly zone;
You observed me observing the birds and the bees,
Did you know that I flew far from the farthest seas...?
You named me: 'nature lover', 'true child of nature,
Did you know, yet, I was my own legislature?
When adolescence, from my childhood, was leaving,
You found my physique and psyche slowly cleaving...!

'Cast', you said, 'color'; and, thus, slowly isolated,
In the name of sect and creed, humans you hated;
When I took the name of the poor, you spat at me,
Don't you know to wash, myself, I have a vast sea...?
Political, cultural, vices preputial,
The paths I've traveled have been cruelly crucial;
Did I not stick to my ground, not seeking solace?
Wasn't your endmost accusation: 'he's lawless'...?

Didn't Socrates drink the poison with passion?
Did you spare Jesus, the zenith of compassion?
I stood alone like the sage-like saints; I still will,
I am ready; Is it me that you chase to kill...???
