Beauty Queen
She ran away from home
And came to Mumbai city
Working evening shifts at MacDonald’s
She would observe girls walking in high heels
Her dream was to be a beauty queen
She finished school and attended collage
And walked on ramps whenever possible.
She carried her books and high heels
In the same bag with her attitude
That books would feed the mind
But heels would make her walk
with her head held high in the sky.
Her dream was to become a beauty queen.
She won Miss India and it was beyond her Imagination.
She could now imagine freedom from a humble
background
And help others like her to strive
When she was crowned Miss. India
She said the weight of her crown and the weight
of her high heels were the same
Each step she took reinforced her freedom
beyond her imagination.
Work hard and never give up on your dreams
Says this proud Miss India our very own beauty queen.
