Beautiful Mountain Lake
Climbing down the mountain face
to reach the sparkling lake.
Just below the rocky base
the sky seems so opaque.
Round the bend the waters roll;
I dip my tired feet.
Can feel the freedom in my soul,
a sense of peace so sweet.
Rippling and twirling by
a surge of heavenly blue.
I touch the surface with a sigh,
see my reflection too.
Trudging along the rocky shore
the water seems to follow.
It cascades to my own front door
that sits within the hollow.
Love to watch and drown my sorrows,
every day renewed.
May this place hold my tomorrows
peacefulness subdued.
