Beach Grass - Haiku

expanse of beach grass
captures drifting sand in winds -
          motionless the dune

So tragic isn't it Susan that there are those poor souls who will never experience the surf, the beach, the dunes. But alas I will never experience an Iowa cornfield, it tassels giving shadow to me as I wander. Washington coast here - Ken

Dear Ken, I relish your gracious visit and poetic words regarding the Iowa cornfield.. beautifully said, my friend. I agree that it is tragic for those poor souls who will never experience the surf and the pull of the sand from under bare feet when the wave recedes. I couldn't live anywhere else but on the coast. The Washington coast must be magnificent. Your comments are a delight! I haven't been here for a few weeks but I hope to catch up with your poetry soon. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

This reminds me of the beach at Brigantine, NJ, which is just north of Atlantic City. I would go there if there were none of those horseflies that bite the hell out of anybody.

Oh yes, those horseflies are the bane of the beach goers existence. We have them here on beaches in southern Massachusetts and their bites are indeed savage. Thank you, Robert, for your wonderful visit and kind comments. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Welcome back Sue, thank you for your kind wonderful support during Elias's stay in hospital, if it wasn't for my friends, and our children, I think I would have gone crazy. Great Haiku dear friend. Blessings and hugs, Jennifer.

Hello Susan. Without the grass to fortify the dune all you have is a pile of blowing, shifting sand. Brings back memories of Topsail Island, NC. John

Hello J., I love living on the coast and being so close to the beach. Indeed, the grass anchors and grows the dunes.. where I live we have beautiful dunes that simply amaze me. Topsail Island must be beautiful as well! You must have wonderful memories of it. Thank you for your gracious visit and wonderful comments. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Ah yes! I love the ocean, Caren. Fortunately, I live on the coast so the ocean is just a few minute away. Thank you for your wonderful visit and comment, my friend. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
