Through the mess 
and the worry 
Through the thousand of sorry’s
Be who you are kid

Stand up
Don’t pout
Have a little clout
From the young
To the old
Whatever story you’ve told
Be who you are kid
Be who you are

Look em in the eye
Don’t tell a lie
Be straight
Be skew
Be up be down
Be who you are kid
Be who you are

Face the dark
Though it be stark
Through the tears
And the fears
And the maybe
Tomorrow’s 
Be who you are kid
Be who you are

Through the love
And the hate
And the misunderstood
Stand your ground 
Fool around 
Be free

Be who you are kid
