Be True to Yourself, since I give this advice to poets all the time, “Be True to Your Self”, is an ARS Poetica gnome, or gnomic poetry, it is quatrain written in envelope or enclosed syllabic meter, (9, 12, 12, 9 syllables), and 30 words. Be True to Yourself

Be True to Yourself

Be a first-rate version of yourself.
Because a second-rate version of someone else.
Is like trying to swim ashore from a shipwreck.
With the ships anchor tied to your ass.
