Be Taught of the Lord - Psalm 119: 33-40
Learn well from the wisest of all
the eternal one who knows all things
plead for understanding so you are obedient
to all of the law from it blessing brings
Give all of your heart to all of this
have delight in being lead so divine
protect me from the way of selfishness
pointing my heart in way of a straight line
Train my eyes to take nothing vain
for vanity is worthless no good at all
instead, look to find life so very full
bringing pleasure so make no fall
Truly be taught of the Lord
live in the knowledge of holy fear
give confirmation of all your promises
draw near so you know it clear
Anxiety fills me with a rear approach
turn it away I confess for good
look upon me with your righteousness
I look to you Lord for spiritual food
(This is my " Psalm 119 project" which I began to write a couple of years ago, so this is the fifth poem of twenty-two poems I've written over that time to cover all of Psalm 119.)
