Once a crow lived in the forest and was absolutely satisfied in life. One day, as he paced back and forth his form flickering like flame, saw a swan that was so white. He asked the swan, “ why I am so black and you are so white?". Swan replied him that he thought himself so until he saw a parrot with two colors. The crow then approached a parrot. The parrot explained that he was happy till he show the multiple colored peacock The crow visited a peacock in the zoo and saw him surrounded by hundreds of people. When the people left, the crow said, “You are so beautiful , everyday people come to see and enjoy your beauty, while people shoo me away as they see me". The peacock replied, “Beauty and color are the reasons why I’m entrapped in the zoo. You are the only bird never kept in a cage. I wish I were a crow happily roaming everywhere". We want what we don’t have it and are trapped in the vicious circle of sadness +++ October 21, 2014 Form : Free Verse First Place Win Contest: Fable to the rescue by Carol Eastman
