Be Careful What You Read

It's funny how someone's simple sentiment can stop you dead in your tracks Exhaling air in volumes so vast it feels as if it will never leave your body Whilst simultaneously, desperately, trying to draw more life into your lungs Creating a longing in you that before... that... exact... moment You didn't know existed Unmasking seeds of desire from the deepest corners of your soul Overwhelming, a torrent of questions tumbling and turning at lightning speed Does such inner happiness exist? Is contentment tangible, a prospect for some and not a mis-sold dream Have I become unhinged by their reality - or are they deluded, in denial and living in mine The enormity hits HARD A crushing weight, drowning, akin to a fearsome tide What if? What if I hadn't stopped to read What if I had scrolled on by Would my mind be considered damaged...tortured... Has it now been freed? Does a realisation, an acknowledgement, a need release you Or does it bring the heaviness of inadequacy, the burden of conscious thought
