Battle of the Muses

Verses flow from my brain like sudden zingers 
While “Inventions” by Bach flow through my fingers 
Sometimes one Muse will trample the Muse of the other 
Sometimes, I go for a walk before I succumb to the smother.

I played my first tune on the old piano in my grandma's parlor when I was about three years old...to the astonishment of family who realized I was playing "Bell Bottom Trousers, coat of Navy blue..." I was a World War II child. Play pop, classical, hymns, jazz, etc., by note and by ear with almost no formal training. I guess I'm blessed! Incidentally, no other family members played the piano!!!!

I think, though, that playing is more relaxing.
