Notes About The Poem
Note: This poem is dedicated to my Nan, Pa, siblings and friends, who are always there for me in hard times.
Battle of Heart and Brain
Pot on the stove,
Boiling away,
I don't know what drove,
Me to this rage,
Life is always unfair,
Says my brain,
They don't care,
You mean nothing to them,
I can't control my thoughts,
They keep coming,
Small things, big reports,
She didn't pay attention, it's nothing to her,
Making small things,
Into big, long, never ending report cards,
Like those type of rings,
That are too tight for you,
Restraining and resisting,
My brain is a mess of hot stew,
My heart though,
It knows that I am loved,
They wouldn't have bothered with the court case otherwise,
They weren't shoved,
Or made to do it, they chose to fight for us,
My siblings love me too, even if they don't always show it,
And my friends show me it everyday,
My brain needs to get hit,
With some of the love my heart feels.
