Battle of All Battles

Written By: D. Collins 5/14/19
The battle of all battles is when young people die.
Whether through every war fought, or a police ride.
There are neighborhood battles fought in the streets.
And, battles fought in the mind due to lack of sleep.
We fight the battle of all battles when we first wake up.
Everything after that, is just a stroke of luck.
The battle of all battles is still only in the pre-fight.
Because, we are in that battle for the rest of our life.
We wake up battling on whether the bills get paid.
Putting in extra hours, hoping to get a raise.
But eventually, only our family gets hurt.
Then, we regress back to putting in serious work.
We fight political battles, and dirty Presidents.
And, Bowed-Down Republicans in the Senate.
The battle of all battles is right here, and now.
Nowhere near "The People" throwing in the towel.
