Bathed In the Glow of Dawn

Mist washed across my lids in sleep
cleansing drizzle on my face, I woke
bathed in the glow of dawn's first light
I welcomed the soft kiss of morning
I searched the sky, discovering the sun
framed by trees, winking behind clouds
gentle rain had created a prism of colors
glistening diamonds of dew all around
A new day now risen, I faintly glimpsed
reasons for happiness awash over me
flocks of birds and herds of wild creatures
a mountain crest still blanketed in snow
With eyes seeing and ears keenly listening
I sensed the waking of this sleepy forest glen
On feet I've traveled, mysteries unraveled
Heaven daily renews the birth of our earth
