Barriers
On the path to happiness,
there are so many obstacles you face
And moving past those barriers,
at times, can be very daunting
It can have your mind going thru a maze,
never knowing which way to turn
Trouble in every direction,
but you must keep pressing on
Too often it feels like
there’s no good way to go at the crossroad
Other voices might wanna navigate you,
make you pay the emotional toll too
Tell you how fast and slow to go ...
crash test dummy you into the barrier
No roadside rescue
Mind control experiment safety protocols rescinded,
resulting in tragic toe tag deja vu
Bad science ... bad voodoo
Avoid being a shrunken head puppet on someone else’s chain,
don’t be a road stop pinata for the releasing of their pain
Other people problems can be a barrier,
preventing you from reaching your nirvana destination
Sometimes, going it alone
is the best way for getting thru
those myriad of barriers impeding you
But this path is a hard choice,
taken by very few
Because should you find that blissful place in the end —
Happiness ain’t true happiness,
if there’s no one to share in it too,
and enjoy the beauty of it with you
