Barefeet

"Barefeet"
Let sleeping cats lie velvet dreams licking skeleton keys passed on kisses passed on fire tongues sketchy scratchy curled around warm blanketed whispers laughter tickled by whiskers tales twisted paws softly scratching skin forgotten, dormant covered safely under blanket out of life out of tune in over-heated lonely poet-hung rooms barefeet in benediction crouched naked waiting ready in position on knees elbows follow, genuflection cats, black hearts all feral stalking futures passive inside pheromones all growling aggressive wants demanding latent love A Prayer for the wild at heart dancing naked seeking some kind of love souls on hot tin roofs very forward purring darkly come (Ladylabyrinth / 2020)

Love it-- it is like Poe and Byron melded together to write. Especially love the video and that song. I love both cats and dogs. Your -- Tennessee Williams, Stairs to the Roof, poem referenced is new to me but a wonderful choice.. Fantastic new creation, so wonderfully presented my friend. A fav. God bless..

My referencing those two poets was the feel I got upon reading your wonderful new creation. I do not get those with every poem I read but when I DO, I know that poet tuned into what poetry truly is-- as a gift, a blessing, an art and a true love gotten and giving. Cats are for ladies , dogs are for men, or so always said my grandfather that so deeply loved dogs. Dogs relate better and cats are more aloof-- some cats are so cool. Its a joy to watch how the act.. Thanks to Justin adopting Bob- I get to see that again after my having forgotten it long ago. Life is precious, and Time never seems to be enough. God bless..

I don't know about Poe and Byron, Lindley. :) Tennessee Williams was an extremely interesting character. I am not in any of those esteemed writer's leagues. I was trying for a Greyhound to begin with, they go well in apartments I was advised...no I thought, I'll get a cat that will be much easier and all those lovely cuddles and purrs...as is the course of my life, I ended up with a FERAL....that doesn't purr...I am in the process of cat whispering...I shall let her be herself, but in the end, she will come to me. It is amazing how different muses, incite all kinds of thoughts in my puzzle maze of a brain. x

Magnificent creatures! I have several...rather, they have me. Very little difference in the soul though different species. No meaningful life without freedom. At least, the illusion. Excellent presentation!

I must be some sort of Crazy to take on a Bengal in an apartment. ex-breeder, no one wanted her anymore, she'd produced the babies and the $$$, over and done with.... so I took her in.I must be a real soft touch. Confirmed. totally Crazy.
