Band of Birds
Early one morning as I stood in my yard,
I heard a familiar sound coming from afar,
As the sound became louder I could see
A band of birds flying in the form of a V,
I wondered where they were going
So early in the morning,
As they flew overhead without giving a warning,
And as their waning formation flew off in the distance,
I wondered where they were going to sustain their existence,
I thought it would be nice to live free as a bird,
To go where you please didn't seem so absurd.
