Bananas

On the banana I shall e'er expound

I can consume bananas by the pound

When on a huge eating spree

         My spouse quickly reminds me

My knuckles are starting to drag the ground

Robert. Yours is a real gem. If I was not being so picky on meter, it would have been at the top of my list! Congrats on the HM.

A delightful one, Robert! I was watching Dr. Oz the other day and he said half a banana a day helps prevent some kind of cancer. I forgot which one. But it sure can't hurt!

Oh Bob, you are terribly funny my friend! I really love the last line, the key to your humor in this poem, "My knuckles are starting to drag the ground" that is hilarious! This is a fabulous and quite the tickler of a poem! Great Work!!

Hmmmmm - they are supposed to be very good for you though. Don't get stomach ache by eating too many. Best wishes. I've been writing Christmas poems today, ha ha. The wrong time of the year you'll say.
