Bah Humbug

Been off work since twelve nineteen
Should be happy
Some say
But I don't look at it that way
I know in the back of my mind
The work on my desk is piling up
You would think
A co-worker would help me out
But every year
They don't have the holiday spirit
And never go near it
So instead of enjoying my time off
I calendar watch
Dreading that first day to back
After the holidays

Bah! Humbug!

Good one, Timothy. Strikes a chord. I remember dreading that too. I remember once going in on a Sunday to avoid the stress of that dreaded return day. Yes I was a total workaholic and can attest to the fact that the more you do the more they want. Glad to say those days are long behind me.

Ha, ha! You're a kind man --no Scrooge-- but circumstances sure can make a person cranky. Here's to a surprisingly unstressed return to the grind, Tim! Best wishes, Gershon

That seems to be the way of the world. For many people there is no such thing as a day off. Have a good night my friend.
