An impactful senryu, Mark. I like the fact that you chose a universal viewpoint of grief. 'Flooding my senses' is a very powerful image.

My eyes become misty when I think about all the tragedies in the world. There is peace in poetry, or at least there should be. Expressing emotions of the heart. ~ Brandy

Yes, I agree- there is always Hope. My heart is comforted knowing this fact. Many tears have fallen in the rain. It soothes the soul. I know it has mine many times. Thank you Mark. Me in Pink. :) I wasn't sure how well this photo showed up here. Your kind words are appreciated. ~ Brandy

Brandy, thank you for your kind thoughts. Hope is always there surrounding us, whether or not we can see it at the time. But it's ok to cry. Crying is a release too :) By the way, I like your bright, colorful avatar!
