A vindictive old crone called Skyla Her comments could not be more vile’a She will give folk such flack Stabbing them in the back Well 'madam' I don’t like your style’a* If you cannot say anything nice I’ll offer a snippet of advice Please keep your big mouth shut Stop your cruel words and smut Because soup’s not a fool’s paradise! * a little poetic licence with end rhyme Fictional name but sadly over the last few weeks I’ve seen some really vindictive comments made by both male and female poets ... there really is NO need for it . 6/5/19

I love you poem Jan and there is no need for snide comments ever, I become very emotional when I see the comments and poems of a vindictive nature. Fortunately, they are sparse and none ever directed at me, thank goodness, not comments at least! As for our dear Donald, he thinks he can get away with what he does and what he says, whatever happened to political diplomacy and decency, especiality to Royalty - head home Humpty Trumpy! I am disgusted with Ron Dump's behaviour- our Queen is the most important person in the Uk the head of the commonwealth, yet he thinks he is more important and shows contempt by not following etiquette - ugh I bet they are glad to see the back of him and his entourage:-( hugs Jan xx

So very true Jan, I think I missed the comments you are referring to but I have seen some hurtful, too opinionated comments from others as well. I agree others should leave positive comments, not rude, obnoxious or ignorant ones!

You are right! No need for groundless negativity/darkness on Poetry Soup!!! And I'd recommend ignoring the comment below, i.e., to blame Trump for it. C'mon we're adults (or we're supposed to be). Trump is not a mover of, but rather a reflection of an increasingly vulgar electorate. Thanks for your important message. Best wishes, Gershon

Thanks GW and as for the comment below I know the poet feels strongly about FT and we all have our opinions:-) I know one thong for sure I am glad I live here (and bevel the UK has enough issues with Brexit and its politicians back biting) and not in the US! :-( hugs Jan xx

I love that song, so fitting. Side note, I get teary eyed when I hear, 'Bridge Over Troubled Water.' Oh my, what a song.

oh gosh Cay Cay I tear up at that song too have loved it from the moment I heard it - has very strong memories for me. I've already told hubby I want it played at my funeral she says cheerfully lol:-) hugs jan xx

I don't like to see it Tom and folk are clever enough to mask their vitriol so many don't see it but nasty comments can be seen on an all too regular basis, makes me so glad I don't do 2faced book too Tom:-) hugs jan xx
