Backroads

i see the days
have covered themselves with so many nights
along this road
that turns in so many ways
between fields with grass above the knees
and a breeze...that breeze...
that used to blow her hair across her cheeks
while she spun the car radio dial
looking for songs
that were new to us then. . .
now familiar to my heart

I love your poetry, I really feel like I repeat myself but they are all so touching and bring soft smiles. Laurie
