She was quite a bird. Why did they update her so? Twin 55k engines in full 'burner. Don't they know that airframe limits would be reached in dry thrust? That bird would fly like a fighter. Did she? Rolling, turning, climbing, diving. What of her airframe strength? Enough? To fly fly fly. Those Blackjack engines were more than enough for her to kill Yankee carriers. As were her original engines. Backfire could have been the biggest air combat fighter. Was she close? Soviet dreams.
