Back To You

Seems all roads carried me away with the breeze
I stare at the blood on my hands and my knees
No matter which road I chose I ran into a wall
Sometimes I would run and sometimes I would crawl
Suddenly I can see the sky turning blue
Now I know I’m heading on back to You
Through hard times and the bad choices I’ve made
When I was alone, despondent, afraid
When I feared the fire of Hell was my due
Through those times, Dear Lord, You’ve seen me through
I look at my life and I wonder why
I look at my choices and bow my head and cry
Life is a struggle until the last day is through
I continue my journey on my way back to You

I truly admire the sentiment in this poem, Vince. Lines 10 through 16 are my favorites as they have power and send this across the finish line with a kick. Thank you for your kindness. Coming from a fine poet like you, it means a lot! Regards, Gerard.

Well, I don't know about the struggle but the journey is incredible. Without all those "hard times" (that I caused myself ... smile) I know I wouldn't be the person I am today ... smile ... and neither would you so jump for joy my friend ... its clear sailing now !! And, you've got mail ... smile ...
