Back Surgery, When
I know most people want them far away,
No finger laid upon their precious skin.
They squirm and wiggle fearful and afraid,
A needle makes them pallid and they faint
For me this is no problem, for I like
Improvement doctors can provide for me:
In silence I keep all my fingers crossed,
I hope the tests will prove my body strong.
This surgery I want, it will improve
My life in many ways, but most of all,
I hope it will decrease the pain I feel.
For that alone I give myself to them
These doctors I will welcome with a smile:
The broadest smile that I can find in me.
I'll grin and nod and totally comply!
To show them I am ready to begin.
So think of me tomorrow when they test
If I am strong enough for surgery.
Because if yes, next week or after that,
I finally am rid of you lot here.
Lol, only for a week or two, not yet!
They have to give me green light first, but still
Tomorrow I will hear if I am strong,
Tomorrow they will tell me yes or no....
