Baby Steps

Babydoll shoes
in a split second clocking
the first mile of womanhood
for a relative too close for comfort
proximity is close enough

Some things never change Maureen, sad part sometimes the mother knows and for untold reasons does nothing to stop it, sorry if I’m flipping this one over a bit, cheers David

Forgive me Maureen, but I read this poem with some sort of evil intent in it's content... Hmm? Not the happy first steps of a growing toddler daughter... But I always appreciate reading what you post... Hugs

Nope, a thirteen year old experiencing her first sexual assault. She’s a girl, there will be more. Sigh

Such things business as usual. I don’t think I know any women who have never been sexually assaulted.

This should never happen, and, yet, it does - the theft of innocence. Powerfully written Mo! This ghastly, sick, behavior needs to be exposed at every turn. Thank you for reminding of us of the innocent victim who will always carry this horrible experience with her. Blessings to you! Prayers.

Inspired by my dear friend telling me her 13yr old daughter experienced her first sexual assault, first because we both know there will be more. Shouldn’t but, here we are. thank you, xomo

Deciphering... 'twould seem to no avail. A daughter or perhaps a sister, who has moved?

An ode to a best friend’s daughter experiencing her first sexual assault at a family gathering.
