Baby Blue
Yesterday I acquired another bird.
She's such an inquisitive girl.
She woke me up at six a.m.
With her feathers all unfurled.
She flapped all around her cage
Scaring poor Moses to death.
Moses likes his sleep, don't you know,
In the morning he's not his best.
Other than the flapping episode,
(I think she needs a night light)
The two of them have hit it off really well.
I don't forsee any fights.
She is a bright blue budgie
With violet markings on her face.
I didn't intend to buy another budgie
But of course, that wasn't the case.
My intent was to buy a canary,
A mate for my "Kermit the Green",
But I was attracted to this colourful girl,
The most vivid blue I've ever seen.
So Moses and Kermit both got roommates.
Beautiful girls, the two.
One is for breeding, one's just because
And I'm calling her my "Baby Blue".
