Away at War these Long-lost Years

He held her memory fiercely dear
away at war these long-lost years

Her haloed hair, her velvet touch
he yearned for them so very much

So sweetly did she sing his given name
what he wouldn’t give to hear its strain…

While as she called him night and day
no flood of tears could wash her love away...

Though it was surely true what some dared say
a flame enclosed her as she prayed

We hope for best, love driven, but no one knows God's Plans...somethings we must just accept though a heart broken. Even if I know truth, it is not the way I would do things. I expect a stern lecture some day. Blessings my friend.

Joe, maybe the 'Lecture' won't be too stern. Let the Lord surprise you, ok?
