Ava's Castle
For Princess Ava I designed a place,
Where secret gardens kept still blossom bright,
And weeds imposing threats of my disgrace,
Lie far below her royal candlelight;
By doves constructed high in pastel skies,
Upon a lilac cloud of feathered dreams,
Is seen for her who sees through daughter’s eyes,
A castle built too long ago, it seems;
And though she’s yet to claim her tiny throne,
For under lock and key she serves a queen,
In time all petals nestle flowers grown,
And famished skies rejoice no longer lean.
‘Til then in patience for the love still had,
Awaiting precious eyes that call me “dad”.
