Avalanche

what is so sad about departing
no more water I let you go
and wonder if I'll find your fossil in the future
earth dug for dinosaurs would never know

ashes a better way unless you had no choice
frozen in ice felt harsh in the himalayas
what were you thinking as you slid the avalanche
just to wake up to a blue sky.

Catherine, this comment applies not just to "avalanche" but to many of your poems ("a day at the beach," "flying in the sky," "a flower," etc. You have a remarkable way of rearranging words which has the effect of causing the reader to see things in a new light . . . in a different context. I commend you for that.
