Autumn's Treat

First day of Autumn
He looked from his window
"What nonsense season" scoffed to himself
And closed the window like always

Tenth day of Autumn
He peeked outside
Backyard with scattered leaves
He shut the window and sighed

Thirteeth day of Autumn
He felt a draft
Single red leaf sat on his nose
Sniffing, irritated he ran for his bath

He lost the count now
But tightened his hoodie
Reddish golden hue came in his view
Blinking twice he stood there mesmerized

Taking care to check nobody watching
He slowly opened the door this time
Crunch of leaves below his jumping feet
He finally accepted the Autumn's Treat.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
