Notes About The Poem

Autumn Haiku Set Contest by Tania Kitchin  * 9/21/24

autumn's entrance

in change of season
autumn makes a grand entrance ~
with subtly chilled winds

twirl then arabesque
leaves are dancing a ballet ~
unscripted, unstaged

one last performance
their swan song without encore ~
bare, the maple limbs

WOW Lin: I was struck by our similarity of theme for these haiku. You expressed them in such a blithe way. Great minds think almost alike eh?

;-) I'm not sure about the 'greatness' of my brain cells, but I can vouch for the sharpness of yours, so if you wish to compare us... I'm all for it. lol Thanks a lot, Suz.

Dear Lin, your Haikus are amazing as the words arabesque around in twirling ways. Autumn is a my favorite and you make my joy even greater with these well inked Haikus. Good Luck on the contest! - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

I often feel falling leaves are dancing in air, as does a ballerina. Thank you ever so much for the kind comments, Daniel.

That's something I don't have to do. One of the few benefits of apartment living. Thank you, Tom.

I always feel sad when I see them on the ground, crushed underfoot when once they swayed so beautifully on their trees. Thank you, John.
