Autumn's Arrival

Enjoy the golden harvest moon
That will escape the sky too soon
As autumn's colors fade away.
Listen to the breeze rustle through
The changing trees as bird songs
Echo through the twilight sky.
I am blissfully aware of how
Jasmine scents the evening air
And joyfully I welcome fall.

This poem lifts its message over the words like a warm wind might rattle the leaves on a autumn’s eve and brings tranquility to the soul. Emile.

this is a delightful blending of the three required senses; these contests of nette's are interesting and have produced some lovely poems, this being one of them (just a heads up, 4th line should be 'rustle' - nette likes correct spelling!) good luck in the contest :)

Thank you thank you thank you Charlotte. My kindle auto corrects or changes so many words and I often miss the typo's. I really appreciate you letting me know in time. I will change it right now. Thank you for your kind words too. Hugs, Connie

Thank you very much Paul. California is getting our rain and they really need it. It rained a lot here last week, heavy, and we had some flash flood warnings. I live on a hill so we were fine. Autumn is my favorite season so I am delighted with cooler temperatures coming our way. Here's to cool weather my friend! Cheers, Connie

A reason that I love fall is to get rid of summer's hit that this year was( and is in the low thirties) between 35-40 Celsius. We still wait the arrival of Fall. Fortunately your beautiful poem brought the awaiting coolness. Loved your poem, dear Connie! Good luck in the contest!

I've always loved Spring best, but Autumn spins a close race. Then, there's the beauty of snow. Guess I'm just glad we can enjoy all the seasons. Love your poem. Good luck in the contest.

I do enjoy spring too Cona but I know that here in Hawaii summer arrives around April and lasts through late October so I enjoy autumn most. Thanks for commenting Cona. Nice to touch base with you again. I always enjoy your poetry. Cheers, Connie
