Vermillion Flames

Color clings to the trees and won't let go,
though Winter has sent an early flurry.
And crimson canopies shake off the snow,
reassuring Autumn not to worry.
Jack Frost's fire excels in setting the trees
ablaze in scarlet and vermillion flames.
And though some snowflakes commandeered a breeze,
Winter's not earned the victory, She claims.
And as the snowflakes quickly melt away,
Fall's breathtaking beauty's fully restored.
And for all those hoping the snow would stay,
Winter's fun, but Autumn can't be ignored.
Winter winds bathe in showers of dead leaves
and a flock of geese honks; as Autumn leaves.
