Autumnatic

The trees here are starting to change,
Which, since it is fall, isn’t strange.
Some are orange, some red
Or bright yellow instead,
A new wardrobe that trees rearrange.

To me, it’s a magical time;
For being outdoors, it is prime.
To take walks, I’m inspired,
Though a jacket’s required,
At least in this northeastern clime.

There is ice cream that’s pumpkin, as well
As the apples and gourds orchards sell.
Oh, I wish it could stay
Just like this every day -
I love autumn! (In case you can’t tell.)

I’ve always been a summer lover, but Autumn is definitely growing on me. I’m currently watching my scorched lawns grow greener by the day… and, at dinner… no flys to swat away… BLISS! Loved your Autumnal write, Ilene, but I’m thinking I’ll give that pumpkin ice cream a miss.

- Autumn is beautiful when the sun shines and the colorful leaves wave from the branches... but, like summer, autumn has been full of rain and wind... the trees are already bare. – A lovely poem, Ilene :) - hugs
