In the season of change, so many see delight - but all I see is death.

Silent One.

autumn's palette colours fauna and flora - amber and brown shades spread golden flames too timid to enkindle - last rose turns rusty from red tears of mercy bleed from heaven's garden - dewdrops drip on naked thorns clouds compose in charcoal clumps of miserable gloom - chill in the air in the silence of mute birds - flock of feathers emigrate - meadows sleep moon shivers in lonesome polluted horizons - darkness veils daylight morning frost shrouds evergreen foliage - icicles and iced cobwebs inhale arctic zephyrs from blustery breeze - breathe out white bitter breaths gently nature expires leaving a trail of decay - kingdom of death

That winter sounds like a rough one. Very descriptive and the two seasons. I am glad that I chose this one to read today. Thanks for sharing it with us. Sara K

I love how your "Autumnal Angst" tells a wonderful story through the many Monoku lines. Very Creative... The quote/picture shows death for autumn but new life will be here for spring. A FAV for me. Have a wonderful day writing away..................

All these images are so real and their darkness is real and yet beauty has many faces. Suddenly the suns rays will light up the icy cobweb. I’ll bet you have a nice smile, SO.

a stunning and brilliantly created Monoku. I loved every line; the imagery evoked deep feelings within me--the darkness and muteness that comes with the onset of winter. I loved, "in the silence of mute birds - flock of feathers emigrate - meadows sleep. Just seeing fall disappear from the landscape makes me sad; I feel a little dead inside and even a tad moody. Your poem spoke to me on so many levels. Faving it. Hope you have a wonderful evening, Sara

Simply said, dear friend, you are outstanding in every respect. Despite the sentence syllable restrictions, the beautiful images flow together naturally. Blessings

Go on then, I am pretty much Autumned out now and didn't think there was another word that could now be written. However I'm a massive fan of ice laden webs and felt the sadness of dew on a thorn. I shall offer my hand to shake for a job well done on this one. No doubt it will place highly :)

Wow this is too good! I wrote mine too but havent posted and now as i read yours i feel like mine is nothing! You’ve highlighted all aspects of autumn in sheer poetic eloquence! Its like you do this effortlessly! I guess, it comes easy for the silent one! I especially love rusty roses and thorns and also how moon shivers. And that last monoku! Gosh i have no words im speechless! The imagery and how artistic it is is beyond impeccable and has a delicate soft touch. And ofcourse alliterations
