Autumnal

A mystery of branches now bare of leaves
reach into bright, flamboyant sunshine.
An arcane ritual that turns quiescent greens
to a floating immolation.
Ambivalent, we see a new outline,
bittersweet, against a cloudless sky.

Discarded leaves turn the ground,
a luscious quintessence of browns.
Intercessor of summer memories woven
in stitches of every wondrous hue.
This tactile tapestry hung against a space of sunlit blue.
