Autumn Falls Too
What will be left after all the leaves
fall from the trees?
Who will be there to answer calls
when they come
ringing in the wee?
Hours after the rain has fallen to ground
we're dry like air
& doomed autumn leaves
Though time is short it seems tall
to those with souls that
never leave
Whether it's cold or lukewarm
we're cool like a late
autumn breeze
Winds blow but can't sway the
firm roots for they're a
part of strong trees
Never mind the direction of the
weather nor what
the storm clouds
breed
Vanes on an axis point the way
but you must follow &
see where it leads
