Autumn Dance
I walked through falling confetti of colorful autumn leaves
I twirled and danced in the crisp air and warm sunshine
The gray clouds that hugged the distant mountain let go
The sky became clear blue all around, for miles I could see
The ground filled with the recent cold rain, quickly dried
As the breeze shook the other leaves still hanging on tightly
To the many branches that shined deep into the woods
Along the road the brook gurgled, chipmunk scampered,
In a world where I danced on my own
