Autumn Celebration
For just one heavenly moment
the fiery leaves of fall blaze forth
bursting along the rolling hillsides
in brief, magical pageantry.
Electric red leaves light up
like firecrackers in celebration
neon orange and yellow leaves
shine, translucent in the sun
cool purple leaves calm the pallet.
Trees swoon and sway in fall’s breeze
a crescendo of kaleidoscope colors
that peak in a patriotic wave
a shimmering vision
for autumn’s Fourth of July.
