Autumn

Cold drops of water hit her face
Her glasses begin to fog
The smell of earthworms in the air
Icy puddles to splash through
Rubber boots shiny with the wet
Crunchy red and amber leaves
Autumn has descended once more
And with it dampness and chill
The winds pick up with gale like force
She dreams of summer beaches
Her house is in sight just ahead
A welcome haven at last

What a nice little poetic journey you have taken us on that definitely expressed the essence, aromas and the feeling of autumn. Really nicely done.

Thanks Chris. I was speaking directly from experience which I think makes it easier to capture the essence of the story.
