Autumn

Autumn leaves
flutter
and fall
twirling in a
danse macabre
their scattered colors
brilliant, lay
in mock repose
and dry decay
lawn’s mosaic,
lowly cloak
they wait their turn
to go up in smoke

Brilliant use of words to describe what is so often mentioned in autumn poems Gail. A crisp and vivid vision of autumn's entrance to center stage!
