Those who live in northern regions,
witness nature’s changing seasons.
When the days and nights are equal,
summer’s ended, Autumn begins.
Leaves of summer, change in color,
from the greens to reds and yellows.
Scorching sun and humid breezes,
tempered down by autumn’s cooling.
Nature hosts a yearly showcase,
while the days are getting shorter.
Scenes of sundry shades of yellows,
grasp the gaze and liven spirits.
Furry creatures, busy hoarding,
nuts and seeds of every nature.
While the colored leafy shower,
blankets earth in patchwork layers.
Learn a lesson from the squirrels.
When abundance pays a visit,
wisdom cautions, winter’s coming,
save and store for future famine.
