Author of Peace
“33For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” 1 Cor 14:33 KJV
God is not the author of confusion,
But rather the Author of Peace.
When our hearts become afraid,
We must ask for his peace to release.
Ask God to fill you with joy and peace,
So that you may overflow.
In quietness and confidence
You’ll live in peace below.
The world is stressed and troubled
By the things of the here and now;
Seldom ponders hope for the future;
To humans prefers to bow.
Joy and peace are found lacking;
Noise and fear are everywhere.
Few ask for the gift of peace;
Into a TV screen prefer to stare.
IPods and electronic games
Have overtaken our children.
They’ve forgotten how to stand still;
Say ‘excuse me’ or ‘pardon’.
Bereft of peace and joy
Many continually seek pleasure;
Failing to understand
That in giving is its greatest measure.
God is the Author of Peace,
But few seek his peace to find.
The quietness and confidence of righteousness
Has well and truly been left behind.
Peace perfect peace
Is the deep longing of hearts gone cold.
The Author of Peace
Is worth more than much silver or gold.
