Aunt Polly's Delicious Cookies
Aunt Polly’s Delicious Cookies
By Elton Camp
Little John spotted them in the store
“There they are and I want some more”
“Those are the type Aunt Polly lets me eat
And I tell you now, they just can’t be beat”
“They are sort of hard to get a bite
But then they sure do taste all right.”
“And Brutus likes to eat them too.
He will just chew and chew and chew”
He took a box of cookies from the shelf
So he could carry them home for himself
His mom said, “Put that back on the rack.
For those things are only a doggie snack”
“I eat them every time to Aunt Polly’s I go.
They’re just great and I just love them so”
When his mother saw what he said was true
She rushed him to the doc to see what to do
The ingredients on the Milk Bones he read
And then this is what the wise doctor said
“These are mainly made of corn meal.
John can eat them, its not a big deal”
“But he should let Brutus have first bite
That way, he isn’t likely to snarl or fight.”
